BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Current board of education member Jeffrey Brookner is ending his time on the board and setting his sights on a new office in town.

Brookner has been endorsed by the Bridgewater Democratic Municipal Committee to run for mayor in the November elections.

His running mates running for two open seats on the township council on the Democratic ticket in November are John Arcoleo and Patti Selikoff.

"After over a decade on the board of education, it was time to move on and let other people undertake the mantle of leadership," Brookner said. "Moving into municipal government presents a new and different opportunity to represent the people of Bridgewater."

Brookner is a 12-year member of the board of education, including three years as board president. He is a local attorney practicing business law, and has two kids who have gone through the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District.

Arcoleo, with a Ph.D. from Columbia University in biological sciences, is a principal of J&D Associates in computer support for 33 years. He has a daughter who graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan High School, and is now a college junior.

Selikoff has a bachelors and masters degree in biochemistry/fiber science, and owns a local qualilty-control consulting business. She is the mother of three girls.
